How to use in Notion: Paste this page into Notion, then select the main table and convert it to a Table/Database view (/table block, or select the markdown table and choose "Turn into database"). Turn on filters and sorts for the columns below — filter by Room Size Fit or Skill Level, or sort by Visual Weight to plan a room from heaviest to lightest form.

📌 Quick Reference (Callout)

Core rule of form-first design: Resolve mass, scale, and silhouette before color or decor. A room fails on proportion long before it fails on palette.

❓ FAQ / Troubleshooting

My room has nice furniture but still feels off — why? Check Visual Weight balance in the table. A room with too many "Heavy" entries and no "Light" ones feels crowded even if each piece is well chosen individually.

How do I mix geometric and organic without it looking random? Pick one dominant category (geometric or organic) for large anchor pieces, then use the opposite category only in medium/light-weight items (decor, lighting, small tables). See the "Pairs Well With" column for tested combinations.

My ceiling feels low after installing a coffered ceiling — what happened? Coffers are listed as "Heavy (overhead)" — they visually lower ceiling perception. Pair with vertical furniture silhouettes and uplighting to counteract.

Can I use rustic forms in a small space? Only the lighter rustic elements (woven texture, slim wood accents). Heavy rustic forms (thick beams, deep seating, farmhouse tables) are flagged "Medium–Large" fit and will overwhelm compact rooms — use Small-Space Form rows instead.
